season 5 of Stargate Atlantis tv show was premiered on July 11, 2008 with the season opener entitled ‘Search and Rescue (Part 2)’. It lasted for a total of 20 episodes and the season finale ‘Enemy at the Gate’ was aired on January 9, 2009. Amanda Tapping, portraying Colonel Samantha Carter, made several guest appearances in this season, continuing her character’s storyline from fourth season. Robert Picardo, playing Richard Woolsey became a regular star cast member in this season. Another promotion from a recurring one to a regular one was of the actress Jewel Staite, appearing as Dr. Jennifer Keller. Among the other guest and recurring appearances were Michael Shanks (Dr Daniel Jackson); Paul McGillion (Dr Carson Beckett); Joe Flanigan, Jason Momoa, Rachel Luttrell, and David Hewlett etc. Season received good ratings during its run.
