Stargate Universe, also known as SGU, the next production of Stargate franchise, would be premiered in the month of October on the Sci-fi channel. Who might have thought that Stargate Atlantis series would live for five seasons only? It’s a shocking fact that high ratings and huge response from viewers was not enough to let a series run for some more seasons. Series had been doing nice since its premiere and all seasons were very entertaining and attention-grabbing ones. Even though it’s no more. It has been confirmed by the network representatives that Sci-Fi didn’t renew the series with sixth season, making the fifth season the series finale season.

Something is here to soothe the fans. A Stargate Atlantis movie is on its way and would hit the screen soon. Stargate Atlantis was a production of Stargate franchise, filmed and produced in Canada. It was all about the adventures of a human voyage to the lost city of Atlantis in the Pegasus Galaxy. Among the other most notable creatures were the Wraith, the Genii and the Asurans. During its five season long run, Stargate Atlantis aired a total of 100 episodes. Each season of series was consisted of 20 episodes.

Stargate Atlantis began its journey on July 16, 2004 on the US Sci-fi channel. First season of series introduced all the major characters and the basic premise of the series. Second season continued the stuff where it was left by the second season. As the second season went off air, welcoming the viewers was the third season of series. Oops! Sorry man, I didn’t tell you what is what and I am asking you to solve my trouble. Actually, all I am talking about is an incident where a 21 year man allegedly attacked Jason Momoa who played Ronon Dex on ‘Stargate Atlantis’. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

As per the statements of Las Angeles County District Attorney’s office, accused Dominic Bando is a resident of Venice. On November 15, he argued with actor Jason Momoa at a café on Franklin Avenue in Hollywood. Deputy Dist. Asst. Victoria Pasternack said that Dominic struck Momoa in the face with a pint beer glass, it shattered in his face and he needed 140 stitches during the reconstructive surgery. Jason is okay now and Bando is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 10.

On ‘Stargate Atlantis’, Jason portrays Ronon Dex, a weapons specialist Satedan from Pegasus Galaxy. He had been a runner for several past years. After Dr. Beckett removed his Wraith taking device, he joined Sheppard’s team on Atlantis. His character on series was very liked by the viewers and Jason has secured a strong fan base with his portrayal of Ronon on series. I did feel sad at the news that Stargate-Atlantis will end now, but a two hour movie is the better idea. The ancient laboratory in “The Lost Tribe-2”, interests me so much that I would like to watch that episode again and again. There Sheppard has to rescue Mckay and the doc, Jackson from the lab. “Outsiders’ is a bit more exciting episode of the season. Now the team has got more difficult task to do. They have to locate that small group of people who have survived of the Michael’s release of the modified Hoffan drug. They have to vacate the whole village of anther planet before the arrival of Hive ship.

I love every series of Stargate, because they always have something very interesting in every episode, to lure the viewers. I don’t mind their alluring until it makes me that curious that I just can’t resist watching next episode. Thankfully they always succeed in that. Let’s see what’s happening about the movie now. Its official now, folks that this is going to be the final season of the Stargate Atlantis. At the end of the season in January 2009 the show will wrap up finally. The reason given by the writer of the show Joseph Mallozzi is that of insufficient funds. It’s really sad but true. Canadian dollar is almost as strong as the American dollar and it means considerable rise in the cost. So the makers had no other alternative than to finish it off for good. But if paucity of funds is the only reason then may be they should consider shooting it in china …. For once I am not kidding.

Anyway, it did not stop them from milking it as much as possible. The producers have announced a movie at the end of the season. The success of two earlier movies ‘The Arc of Truth’ and ‘Continuum’ has opened new doors for the creators of the show. They are part of the team which will work on the movie project.

I am sure the die hard fans of Stargate series would welcome it in any format, as long as it has same cast and same vitality which is the essence of the series. On second thought, I think a movie is even better for the thrill lasts for longer.

The latest buzz of Hollywood is, Stargate is planning for another movie. The talks or on and nothing has been finalized yet. The show producers are trying to gather more and more Stargate original stars for the cast of movie. Great plan. Star gate has already launched sister series of Stargate and two movie too. Stargate-Continuum has hit the stores yesterday. Brad Wright told Hollywood reporter that Star Continuum is much similar like classic Stargate series. When reporters asked him about when the Stargate will be introduced to people on Earth in the series. He replied that this is the big thing in his safe pocket and when they will launch it as big thing in future.

So I would like to tell Mr. Wright that I like Stargate in every form he presents. This is the only show which can satisfy the thirst of a sci-fi freak inside me. My little cousin is just ten year old and regularly downloads Stargate games and has got many DVD’s of Stargate and games from me as a gift. Whenever I visit his place he will order me to bring a game. I must confess that the game is really cool and I too became fan of that when I watched him playing.

Now it’s my bit from the season ten. Well the season eleven has just premiered on television this month. But unfortunately I missed to watch that as I was out of station for some urgent work. Besides this you will find powerful energy waves, rebellion clones and many more amazing things.

The show is introducing a new and different thing in every episode. “The Pegasus project” is also one of my favorites, here the Supergate is permanently closed. The whole team is intensely indulged in finding a lead to Anti-ori weapon, and they visit the Atlantis for that. This was full of adventure and Stargate always rocks

I am simply a sci-fi fan and sci-fi series always attract me and are capable to hold me for long. One of them is ‘Stargate ’. Does anybody know? Stargate is on Guinness world records for being a longest running sci-fi series. I love these kinds of series which take the viewer to the journey of Galaxy and time travel.

One gets to know about many generations which ever existed. The intellect included in the plot of such series seems very impressive. Stargate has all these features. This is a big hit and everybody’s favorite that is why it had crossed ten seasons and is still present in the form of movies.

Stargate is one among those few TV shows, whose single episode can be viewed repeatedly and one doesn’t get bored of that. Especially the alien villains actually grasp the attention. I like that snake kind of aliens, who are highly intelligent, ruthless and can invade or control the other species including humans. I think they are called Goa’uld. The other villains whom I liked the most are replicators. These are the mechanical bugs that feed on metals to “replicate” and create more bugs. Enemy of the Asgard, they are the main reason why the Asgard cannot eliminate the Goa’uld threat. Now I’ve heard from a friend that another movie is coming directly to DVD like there Stargate: the Ark of Truth in March this year. The upcoming movie is Stargate: Continuum. My friend told me that this movie will contain time traveling. I am ready for the travel.
